Respite Care for Mentally Retarded Adults

Respite care provides families with an opportunity to take vacations, or just simply have a rest from their care giving responsibilities. Respite care also can be used to acclimate a prospective resident to the Martha Lloyd environment when permanent admission isn’t desired immediately. Martha Lloyd offers respite care services, on a space-available basis, to individuals meeting their admissions criteria.

Requests for respite care should be made at least 30 days in advance of the desired date of the visit. Emergency respite care requests may be made at any time. Respite care is offered at the current daily rate depending on the level of care required, and provides the individual with residential care, day/vocational programming, and medical monitoring. No minimum or maximum time frames have been established for respite care.
