The CopperTree Program
provides very unique work experiences for individuals with developmental
disabilities. The program includes operating retail stores and a
Work Center that has developed and manufactures over 60 of its own
products.
The CopperTree Program
also seeks opportunities for people to work in the local community.
With job coaching and close coordination with employers, CopperTree
gives participants the chance to enrich their lives through contact
with their neighbors.
The
CopperTree Shop is another part of this program: Two shops allow
program participants an opportunity to work in a retail setting.
Workers are trained to work in the CopperTree Shop, stocking shelves,
operating the cash register and helping customers.
The CopperTree Program
also seeks and obtains work contracts from local and regional businesses,
providing participants with meaningful work, and promoting work
skills development. To date the Work Center has developed, and produces,
over sixty products that are sold in our shops and other venues.
The primary goal of the
CopperTree Complex, including the Work Center and Retail Shop, is
to maximize the potential that all people have to contribute to
their community. CopperTree works closely with the Commonwealth’s
Office of Vocational Rehabilitation to provide such services to
local individuals.
CopperTree services are
available to all who reside at Martha Lloyd Community Services,
as well as individuals who reside in the surrounding communities.
